On October 17th, Greenfield Recorder featured an article highlighting the real-time cost control power that Meals Plus administrative software offers.
Union 38 School District of South Deerfield (MA) was losing more than $107,000 each year in all five of their lunch programs, while using educational dollars to supplement those programs. A July report estimated that the district could save more than $123,000 each year by making many small changes. Changes included transitioning to Meals Plus in the three schools that did not have it already, and ensuring the data from lunch counts, balances due and money collected will be computerized for more efficient record keeping.
“We’re getting more bang for our buck. I can go to sleep at night and say, ‘I did my job, I did my due diligence,’” said Superintendent Lynn Carey.
